Taking a break from the Halloween parties dressed up as ghouls, we stumble upon some confused souls. The 2011 Chengdu Auto Show ran from 16 to 25 September, why on earth didn’t we notice it? Ah… the Frankfurt Motor Show was in full swing then.
Poor guys probably didn’t see record crowds jamming the show floor like our local IT shows.
Then again, perhaps these are the reasons to attend the show: Starting with Yema’s SUV, the… hang on a second…it’s the upgraded SQJ6451B!
Called the F99, it is the ultimate in urban exploration with all those extra spotlights. Handy, should you run into a Forest. Should you err, that massive bull bar should help the ratings when it comes to crash tests. Powered by a 1.5-litre engine (as opposed to the original’s 2.0- and 2.5-litre power plants), it generates a healthy 95 hp and 130Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission to make full use of all those horses – because you’ll need it!
Sure, maybe you want a more-luxurious SUV? Here, the F10 should be all the car you need.
Take a F99 and garnish it with extra luxurious touches with a awfully familiar grille, a DVD multimedia system with GPS navigation and the same 1.5-litre engine to haul it around. Problem is, no bull bar. Scary. Probably the same goes to the F12 behind it – the Sport looks should age well.
The F16 is… German
The T-SUV doesn’t really live up to its name – it needs a fancier name. How about T-GUN?
Look what we have here! An E series!
Good news is, only the F99 and F10 are slated for production whereas the other three are still in the planning stage with no official facts and figures. Perhaps everything you see here will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 95 hp engine with 130 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission… just kidding!
