The BRZ has been unveiled ahead of its official Tokyo auto show debut. However, it does look rather similar to its Toyota brother…There is no more official surprise – the BRZ looks identical to its sister car, the Toyota 86 (GT 86). Both of them share the same platform and the same engine and drivetrain too. There are slight styling differences, with the BRZ having a slightly more aggressive front grille, headlights and foglights, BRZ STI concept fender vents and a different wheel and tire package (no Bridgestone RE86 business here…for now.)
There isn’t any surprise on paper too, with the BRZ having a 2.0-liter D-4S engine, a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifts and a limited slip differential at the back. What will probably make us pick between the 86 and the BRZ would ultimately boil down to two things: interior and price.
Update: More official pictures of the BRZ from the ongoing Tokyo Motorshow!
As you can see, the interior isn’t much different from the Toyota 86, perhaps with just slight colour differences to separate them both. Check out the gallery of official pix below!
