Lexus dealer brings in its stunning LF-LC concept car for a limited time.

 

The Lexus LF-LC concept first wowed audiences in 2012 at the North American International Auto Show, showcasing a whole new styling direction for the brand. Now for a limited time, Lexus fans and car enthusiasts in Singapore will have a chance to admire it up close, as it will be on display at the newly revamped Lexus showroom along Leng Kee Road.

 

This concept car was first conceptualised at Lexus’ Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California, and was embarked upon as the future hybrid sports coupé, embodying the brand’s belief in combining advanced technology with avant-garde beauty. The Lexus LF-LC is part of the brand focus to use great design to invoke an emotional connection with people, as recently encapsulated by the brand’s “Amazing In Motion” campaign.

The LF-LC’s main styling highlight is its one-piece glass roof, which incorporates both the front and rear windscreens and is supported by a lightweight, cantilevered pillar inspired from modern architecture. Framed by a deep aluminium surround, the ‘spindle’ grille’s mesh pattern gives it a 3D effect, while the L-shaped daytime running lights with vertical fog lamps suggest a sense of movement. A rear deck spindle grille design echoes the front of the LF-LC, with L-shaped tail lamps utilising inner lighting (inspired by a jet’s afterburner) creating a sense of depth and width.

Inside, the LF-LC features deeply scooped side panels and a high, curved centre console angled towards the driver. The cabin is trimmed with a blend of smooth leather and suede alongside brushed metal trim and wood accents. To complement the advanced technology within the vehicle, twin 12.3-inch LCD screens act as information and navigation displays. There are also pop-up touch-screen control boards that allow passengers to control audio, climate, navigation and other adjustments within the vehicle.

With its Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain, the front-engine, rear-wheel drive LF-LC combines a powerful internal combustion engine with an advanced high-energy pack to produce an estimated 438 bhp. Thanks to the experience gained from the LFA project, Lexus was able to successfully meld carbonfibre and aluminium alloy materials to keep the car as light and responsive as possible.

The Lexus LF-LC will be on display at the Lexus Boutique at 33 Leng Kee Road from 1 July to 30 August 2013.
