Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APB Singapore) has spearheaded, for the first time, a collaboration with the National Taxi Association (NTA) and Cheers Holdings, to thank and give recognition to taxi drivers in Singapore whom have gone the extra mile to bring party revellers home safely and to prevent drink-driving.
This community project will offer 3,000 sets of snacks, comprising a coffee, Polar sugar roll and curry puff in each set, to taxi drivers, redeemable at selected Cheers and FairPrice Xpress outlets located at petrol stations from 5 – 7 February 2014. Car decals that call out “We Salute Singapore’s Designated Drivers†will also be presented to 3,000 taxi drivers as a mark of appreciation.

“Taxi drivers are our unsung heroes when it comes to mitigating the issue of drink-driving. They tirelessly ferry passengers who consumed alcohol home safely and in turn, help avoid potential drink-driving incidences. Taxi drivers are also central to us encouraging party revellers not to drive to drink so that they will never drink and drive. As such, we are glad to have the opportunity to further raise public awareness about the serious consequences of drink-driving with this collaboration with the NTA and Cheers to thank Singapore’s designated drivers,†said Shannen Fong, Head of Corporate Relations at APB Singapore.

To further raise public awareness about anti-drink-drive and to engage members of the public in this initiative, the first five people to spot the “We Salute Singapore’s Designated Driver†car decal and upload a photo of it via #dontdrive2drink on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter will stand to win taxi vouchers worth S$100 each. APB Singapore is also giving away two Sony PlayStation®4 if your submission to #dontdrive2drink is the most liked and shared. To find out more, please log on to http://www.dontdrive2drink.sg.
