For the first time, historic Formula One cars will be racing under the Singapore lights at the Marina Bay Street Circuit
The Marina Bay Street Circuit will welcome the Masters Historic Formula One cars, which will race for the first time under lights in Singapore. The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship and Masters HGP will combine to showcase a grid of Formula One cars from 1966 - 1985.
An invited selection of 20-cars will form up in Singapore for the ultimate historic Formula One showdown. The support race is in addition to the track action by previously announced Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
Comprising historic 3-litre engine Formula One cars from the 1970s and 1980s in period livery, Masters Historic Racing promises a thrilling glimpse of historic Formula One, delivering a superb spectacle of sight and sound.
Ron Maydon, the President and Founder of Masters said, “We will bring 20 of the most iconic North American and European cars from Formula One history. It will be the first time that the motor-racing fans in Singapore will see such classic cars race in action. We are confident that they will enjoy the sights and sounds of a super-fast history lesson just as much as watching their current Formula One heroes.â€
“The Masters are a great addition to our support track action. We are delighted to select the best of the best historic Formula One cars to race under Singapore’s lights just like their modern counterparts at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Fans can look forward to the thrilling spectacle of racing history set against the stunning Singapore skyline,†said Colin Syn, Deputy Chairman, Singapore GP Pte Ltd.Â
