Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber design shirts for a good cause.

Red Bull pilots Vettel and Webber deliver proof of their extraordinary skills and talent on the race track every day; now they have come to enter new terrain. Ambassadors of the Wings for Life foundation, the two racers proudly present t-shirts with their signature designs as part of the Wings for Life S Collection, which was launched in favour of the Wings for Life foundation. The sales net proceeds will be used to support promising research projects dedicated to finding a cure for paraplegia. The coveted garments will be available online in the Wings for Life online shop.

The cockpit is their office, the road is where they go to work to. It is where half of all spinal cord injuries are happening. However, it is not the royal discipline of motor sports but accidents in everyday road traffic which are responsible for about 65,000 new paraplegia patients per year. Approximately 75 percent of all spinal cord injuries happen in the normal course of life, on the way to school, during leisure time activities or at work. "None of us are beyond experiencing the unforeseeable, it can truly happen to anyone," says Sebastian Vettel when looking at the disconcerting numbers in the accident statistics. "This is why it's so important to support initiatives which are facing major challenges, such as finding a cure for paraplegia."

Ambassadors of the Wings for Life foundation, Sebastian Vettel and his team mate Mark Webber actively speak up for the support of spinal cord research. A representation of a new facet of their personal commitment, Webber and Vettel tried their hands at designing clothes. The two idols created a personal t-shirt, each a must-have for motor sports aficionados and supporters of the Wings for Life foundation alike. "I've been thinking for a while about what kind of design I wanted to do for the Wings for Life foundation, finally, I found that the Formula 1 tyres with wings were quite a cool idea. Because Wings for Life is pushing towards a progress in spinal cord research just like Red Bull is giving wings to motor sports," Webber commented on his theme. Vettel's shirt bears a numeric symbol - he focused on his personal bib number of this year's Formula 1 season. "It brought me good luck, and now I hope it brings luck to researchers and scientists to who we already owe quite a few medical milestone achievements in the quest of a breakthrough in spinal cord research." The coveted garments, which the athletes wore at the Formula 1 finale in Abu Dhabi, are now available for sale. All of the net proceeds will be invested to support spinal cord research projects. So if you wish to own a very special piece of creativity of a Formula 1 superstar and at the same time, support spinal cord research, just check out the Wings for Life shop!
