Shell Opens In Punggol

More than greater convenience, it also marks a push for safer roads.

Shell celebrated the official opening of its first station in Punggol today, after winning the bid for the site last year. As the company commemorates 120 years in Singapore, the opening marks Shell’s continued commitment to serving the needs of the local community.

Located at 821 Punggol Road, the newest Shell site is their first in the area and the second petrol station in the estate. With the new station, residents will also be able to enjoy added convenience at Shell's alliance partner 7-Eleven that offers a comprehensive range of products and services, such as bill payment facilities and top-up kiosks for Cashcard, Ezlink and Autopass cards.

“We are delighted to finally open our doors in the heart of Punggol. The new site will no doubt help address the need from residents in the estate,” said Ms Dawn Phang, General Manager for Retail Sales and Operations, Shell Singapore.

The opening ceremony also kicks off 'Safe Roads Singapore', Shell’s campaign with the Singapore Road Safety Council to help raise awareness of safety on the roads. Supported by the Singapore Traffic Police, the campaign is part of 'A Decade of Action for Road Safety', a global initiative led by the United Nations.

Drivers all over Singapore will be able to participate in this initiative as Shell will roll out the programme at stations island wide. By signing any of the pledge books found in Shell stations across the island, motorists will be able to show their support for the global cause. A target of half a million pledges has been set for Singapore, and will be presented to the United Nations at the end of the campaign as a sign of the nation’s commitment towards road safety.
