ABT invests over S$1.5m to meet growing demand for customised premium cars in Singapore despite rising COE prices
ABT Sportsline (ABT), the global specialist in motorsport and customisation of premium cars, has invested more than S$1.5m to open its first Singapore showroom at One Commonwealth. With the new facility, customers now have the opportunity to tailor-make and purchase their personalised Audi or Volkswagen car from ABT.
Headquartered in Kempten, Germany, ABT is opening the showroom to cater to consumers’ growing demand and appreciation for high-powered, sporty premium cars in Singapore, despite rising COE prices. All ABT cars are supported by the official Audi after-sales service.
ABT Founder and CEO, Mr. Hans-Jurgen Abt, said that this showroom in Singapore is a key milestone in the company’s expansion in Asia, following the unveiling of a similar facility in Taiwan earlier this month.
"With 115 years of history and motorsport success, ABT has cemented its position as the global leader in premium car tuning, and Asia factors as a very important region in our growth plans. Singapore in particular is a market with enormous potential for growth in the customised car sector, with consumers demanding cars that are tailored to their performance and styling needs," said Mr. Abt.
Mr. Wolfgang Kitzeder, Managing Director of ABT Singapore, added that the new showroom will also cater to drivers in Singapore who want to stand out in the crowd. "Consumers in Singapore are increasingly discerning with their car choices – they want a vehicle that is premium, exclusive and also very sporty." said Mr. Kitzeder. "Every ABT car is carefully assembled by our engineers and features motorsport technology that has been adapted for everyday driving. I can’t think of a better way to stand out from the crowd than to be behind the wheel of a fully-customised car with incredible racing credentials."
A range of Audi and Volkswagen models by ABT will be available at the new showroom, including the latest ABT AS7, an Audi A7 modified to 420 bhp and with a top speed of 280 km/h. Customers will also be able to add other modifications by selecting from an array of German components that are TUV-certified and compliant with the Land Transport Authority’s regulations in Singapore. They include aerodynamic kits, lowering suspensions, sports exhaust systems and interior accessories.

The ABT Singapore showroom is open to the public and is located at 1 Commonwealth Lane, #01-02 One Commonweatlh Building. It is one of the 15 ABT showrooms worldwide.
