Volkswagen Singapore celebrates the iconic car's birthday and launches the fastest ever production Golf GTI too!

At a specially transformed Old Kallang Airport, the public could catch an exclusive showcase of some of the best GTIs in the region, including the extremely rare Mk1 model. 

There were games and activities galore for the entire family throughout the two days. Those who were in the mood for something even racier can enjoy the finals of the first-ever Miss Golf GTI pageant, or get their cars washed by hot hunks and babes. 

Other than the exclusive GTI merchandise on sale over the weekend, there were deals offered on the entire range of Volkswagen models at the party as well.

The star of the party without a doubt would the special edition Golf GTI E35. With 235 hp and 300Nm of torque from its 2.0 litre TSI engine, it rockets to 100 km/h from rest in just 6.6 seconds. Also, it comes fitted with special 18-inch ‘Watkins Glen’ alloy wheels, iconic golf ball-style gear knob and distinctive ‘35’ badge branding throughout. Let's not forget the acoustic re-tuning of its sound actuator for an even sportier exhaust note!
