Audi continues its success in the premium ‘A0’ segment with increased practicality and distinctive style in the new A1 Sportback

The “Next Big Audi” has now arrived, in the form of the new chic five-door Audi A1 Sportback premium hatchback.

The car, which was unveiled to members of the local media earlier yesterday, will make its official debut at the Audi Fashion Festival 2012 from 16th to 20th May, at The Tent @ Ngee Ann Civic Plaza, alongside the latest collection from renowned designers on the catwalk.

In the spirit of this fashion extravaganza, the A1 Sportback will be launched under the tagline, “Fashionably Early”. Synonymous with the progressive and forward looking nature of the Audi brand, the tagline also reflects the style, technology and high level of craftsmanship not found in other models in its class.

Two variants will be available. Like the 3-door variant, it will be offered with a 1.4-litre lump mated to an S-tronic ‘box in two different states of tunes: 122bhp and 185bhp. Price is set at $153,850 and $177,000 respectively. Both prices include COE.

Audi Singapore will also offer the A1 Sportback with Audi's new 140bhp “Cylinder On Demand” engine and also diesel variants at a later date, giving buyers looking at this particular model more options.
