Mazda’s new CX-9 boasts the largest room in the full-size SUV segment with its new design language.

Big sporty SUVs are all the rage now, and it is no surprise Mazda wants a piece of the pie. With Mazda’s new-generation ‘KODO– Soul of Motion‘ design language and a spacious interior, it is a stylish and luxurious SUV, and like most of its rivals, would spend most of its life doing the school run. One thing is for sure- the car is set to send shockwaves in the full-size SUV segment.
Exterior wise, the New Mazda CX-9 has a distinctive, sporty exterior design; it adopts the brand expression of the Mazda design theme at the front, with the headlamps, grille, and Mazda badge achieving a balance that offers an attractive, distinctive look that does not detract from the imposing character of the CX-9, and the rear, contributing to an even sportier styling and stronger presence.
What’s more, the new car boasts the new signature wing; the broad chrome-plated wing shows the car’s status off as Mazda‘s premium SUV. Beauty is not just skin deep for this SUV. The car comes with some decent punch too. Powering the large SUV is a MZI 3.7 V6 engine with 278 bhp and 367Nm.
That coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission, enables the car to achieves superb linear acceleration. The six-speed automatic transmission offers a sporty shift feel and linear response to accelerator inputs. For drivers who enjoy exercising more control over the car, there‘s also a manual shift. The car achieves 11.0L per 100km and produces 257g of CO2 per Km.
Inside the car is built to the same high standards; the dynamic black-based interior colour scheme features satin-silver trim on the doors and instrument panel. If black is not your cup of tea, a luxurious beige-based interior colour scheme is also available as an option. The sleek sporty body offers a large amount of room. By being a three-row SUV, it fully utilises its generous interior room. Despite being a three-row configuration setup, the car still has comfortable seating and ample legroom for no fewer than 7 adults.
There is a lot of technology too; the CX-9 boasts an upgraded Infotainment System with advanced functions to provide improved functionality and convenience. The car comes loaded with advanced safety features that includes active safety features such as back-up monitor, dynamic stability control, anti-lock brake system, electronic brake-force distribution, roll stability control and traction control.
