1st Challenge: Are You The World’s Biggest F1™ Fan? Back for a second season with bolder graphics and enhanced gameplay, this interactive challenge involves a race against time to complete 23 questions – same number of turns at the Singapore circuit – related to the sport’s history, rules and trivia on race teams and drivers (25% of the questions are based on the Singapore Grand Prix). Players have to answer all 23 questions in six minutes or less, and the 23 highest scorers will proceed to a final elimination round on 23 August 2011 to vie for the title of the World’s Biggest F1 Fan. One winner will walk away with over US$10,000 worth of prizes including a pair of Green Room hospitality suite tickets valued at US$6,167, a 5D4N hotel stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore worth US$4,058, a pair of exclusive passes to the Drivers’ Autograph Session during the 2011 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX race week, and round trip economy airfare for two. 2nd Challenge: What Makes The Singapore Grand Prix Special For You? Running parallel to the World’s Biggest F1 Fan game is a contest that calls upon fans to share a personal anecdote on what makes the Singapore Grand Prix special for them. The challenge is to write it in no more than 61 characters which is the same number of laps the drivers are required to complete at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Participants who submit the top three best entries will win an exclusive goodie bag packed with limited edition Singapore GP merchandise valued at US$200, US$400, US$600 respectively. It was a wet morning as we all made our way to the rendezvous point in the eastern part of our little island. Great, now how on earth are we going to enjoy driving with the roof down in such crappy weather? Well, let’s just say the dude above wanted us to have a blast, so lo and behold, the weather stopped almost instantly by the time we arrived. Well, you should know what wet roads lead to – over steering antics, that sort. In the case of the 370Z and the Boxster S, it wasn't hard. Switch off the traction control, floor the pedal at the right time, steer with confidence and tadaa… “dorift-o”, as what Krado would say. Not so easy with the four-wheel driven TTS though – but a little pull of the handbrake with no traction control will see it go sideways, although not as spectacular as the other two.

The sides of the roadster are robustly built, not primarily for crash protection, but also to enhance the driving dynamics. Together with a beefed up cross-member with additional supporting struts at the windscreen frame, centre tunnel and between the soft top and the fuel tank, this makes the car very rigid.

With another six months to go before its September launch at the International Motor Show (IAA), this slightly disguised super roadster has all the time to complete rigorous tests.


The EX1 beat an electric speed record by putting in a lap time of nine minutes and 1.338 seconds at an average speed of 138.324 km/h despite weather conditions which were far from favourable. The previous electric speed record on this circuit was set by a race-prepared Mini E, which clocked a lap time of nine minutes and 51.45 seconds.

Spengler Wins At Hockenheim

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0's outstanding driving dynamics come from numerous, meticulously coordinated details. In addition to using suspension components typically encountered in motor racing, weight reduction is also of supreme importance. Equipped as standard with lightweight components such as light but strong carbon fiber sport bucket seats, carbon fiber front fenders and luggage compartment lid, and weight-optimized carpets, the two-seater's ready-for-action weight is just 2,998 lbs (1,360 kg) with a full fuel tank. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0's power-to-weight ratio is 5.99 lbs/hp (368 hp/tonne).

The 911 GT3 RS, one of Porsche's most popular, coveted and successful track-inspired production cars, has been given a final injection of thoroughbred technology resulting in the 911 GT3 RS 4.0.


The new car comes with plenty of electronic aids too, including Cornering Brake Control (CBC) which varies braking power between all four wheels in order to keep the car stable, Cornering Torque Control (CTC) that minimizes under steer and Hydraulic Brake Fade Assist (HBFA) that compensates for possible brake fade in repeated heavy braking situations.

As ironic as it seems, this five-door hatchback has one unique feature that separates it from the pack.


The new XF will be equipped with the existing engines, a 238 hp three litre V6 and 385 hp five litre V8. The XFR receives a 510 hp supercharged five litre V8 that will propel the cat from zero to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The range-topper receives a more aggressive styling with three air dams that dominate the front of the car and a set of cooling vents set into the bonnet either side of the bulge. New sill extensions run down the side of the car framed by redesigned 20-inch wheels. At the rear the new lights sit above a redesigned bumper complete with a subtle diffuser.
