The new Gallardo Squadra Corse is very close to the race cars. Both share the same V10 engine, which is used in the racing version with no modifications. Likewise, the Squadra Corse has the same rear wing for greater aerodynamic load – achieving, under the best aerodynamic conditions, three times the load of the Gallardo LP 560-4 – for increased dynamic stability during tight, high speed driving. Another element taken directly from the racing version is the removable engine hood with quick-release system. Both the rear wing and the hood are made from carbon composite material, as are a host of other components on the Squadra Corse.

The 2013 SingTel Grid Girls in The Singapore Factor Eight fresh-faced ladies aged 18 to 26, have been chosen as this year’s SingTel Grid Girl finalists. Since the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix in 2008, the SingTel Grid Girls have been a star attraction of the race, vying for top honour and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hold the Singapore Formula One and Singapore GP flags at the Singapore Grand Prix. This year, the public can choose their favourite via SMS and online voting to select the top three SingTel Grid Girls. The Singapore Factor, a series of webisodes hosted by Paul Foster, will put the girls’ knowledge of the Lion City to the test in a trio of uniquely Singaporean challenges. The top three SingTel Grid Girls will be crowned before thousands of Singaporeans at the Thursday Pit Lane Experience on 19 September 2013.

The natural trade-off though, is in its ability to carve a corner. Despite how tall the Forester is, body roll is less prevalent than expected, no doubt thanks to the Boxer drivetrain’s low centre of gravity, but unless you really enjoy feeling a car at its limit no matter how easily reached it is (which I do), there’s not much reward to be gained from hustling it. The tyres are designed for low rolling resistance and hence give up very easily, running out of grip at even moderate speeds, while the electric steering, though light and easy to twirl at parking speeds, has a vague, non-linear response during the first few degrees of lock. On initial turn-in the steering feels overly light but after that it firms up, with nice weighting and progression through the rest of the turn.

Launched in Singapore on the 14th of June 2013 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Agera S is the most powerful production car to grace Singaporean streets. Equipped with Koenigsegg’s 5litre twin turbocharged V8 that pushes out 1030 bhp, the car is not only the most powerful, but, thanks to its lightweight shell and huge power output, the fastest vehicle on local roads as well. Although the 0-100 km/h time is a pretty brisk 2.9 seconds, its 0-200 km/h time is even more impressive. Unlike lesser vehicles that accelerate a lot less slowly beyond the 100 km/h mark, the Agera S continues accelerating at a more or less even pace to 200 km/h, completing the sprint in just 7.8 seconds.

2012 ened with a huge bang as Zertohundred.com closed their TimeToAttack series with a final round at the Sepang International Circuit.


Our test-car was finished in black and matched with glossy black wheels. Racing stripes, wing mirrors and brake calipers were peppered in red, and the result is a rather mean looking supermini that looks ready to take on cars twice its size.
