Fear this, hybrids and electric cars... modern diesel technology may have pipped you in being the answer to a greener future.


Under the bonnet, the performance of the 2.0-litre 16V turbo engine has been enhanced with an optimised electronic engine control system. Despite regulatory restrictions, the Mégane Renaultsport N4's engine puts out 265hp and torque of 470 Nm. It is linked to a five-speed H-pattern gearbox, developed specifically for this purpose. On the strength of its experience in the field, Renault Sport Technologies has sought to design an innovative, reliable and high-performance package that also takes on board the notion of cost control at every stage of development. The intention is to make Renault Mégane RS N4 accessible to all drivers, and be both easy to handle and economical to run. Like all of the vehicles in its rally range, Mégane Renaultsport N4 is to be sold by Renault Sport Technologies in the form of a kit comprising all the specific parts.

Noted for its striking design and having won acclaim for its chassis and engine, Renault's Mégane RS is now to give rise to a rally car, the N4, intended for private teams and drivers.


The chassis of the new A6 combines sporty precision with supreme comfort, with links made of aluminium and a redesigned power steering that features a highly efficient electromechanical drive. The executive sedan will also have wheels ranging from 16 to 20 inches in diameter. The Audi drive select dynamic handling system is standard with the new A6, and the front-wheel- drive models have the sporty ESP with electronic limited slip differential on board. For enhanced comfort, adaptive air suspension with controlled damping and dynamic steering will be available soon as options.

Audi has redesigned its executive class model the Audi A6, and it is set to make its market debut in Singapore in the second half of 2011.


Each Audi RS model represents the pinnacle of its model line - the Audi RS3 Sportback, developed by quattro GmbH, now brings this dynamic philosophy to the compact category. It rockets from a dead stop to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The guttural roaring and growling, backed by the signature rhythm of the five-cylinder firing order make up the classic Audi soundtrack. A sound flap in the exhaust branch intensifies the sound even further. The flap is controlled via the standard Sport button, which also varies the engine response.

Citroën has unleashed an all-new contender for the 2011 World Rally Championship - the Citroën DS3 WRC, the hotly anticipated replacement for the multi-championship winning C4 WRC.


The new LED headlights give the new Audi A8 and A8 L (long wheelbase) an unmistakable appearance in daylight and after nightfall. The revolutionary optics used in these headlights is a departure from the tubular light modules commonly used today. The Audi flagship combines a new level of technical intelligence with intuitively simple operation. Its multimedia interface (MMI) includes a pioneering innovation: in conjunction with the MMI navigation plus navigation (standard), it has a touchpad. The MMI enables the driver to control many functions intuitively. The navigation destination, for example, can be entered by tracing the letters on the pad with a finger.

The New Audi A8

The stock 3.6-liter engine is rebuilt to displace 3.82 liters. The engine has been recreated with premium components successfully developed and proven through Ninemeister’s racing exploits. The Singer 911’s engine achieves its displacement with Ninemeister 103mm pistons and cylinders, the 76.4mm crankshaft of the 997 GT3, and the 132mm lightweight titanium connecting rods. The large bore, short stroke combination can spin to 8000 rpm, but offers a broad, flexible torque curve.

Goodyear Malaysia has recently introduced the new and improved range of all-terrain SUV and 4X4 tyre - the Wrangler AT/SA.


Performance wise, the Eagle EfficientGrip is designed for maximum control in all year round driving conditions and reduced wet-braking distances for rock-solid vehicle stability. With a high number of biting edges gripping the road surface for greater traction, the tyre is built with the maximum ratio of blading in the contact patch to achieve safer cornering and maximum grip in all driving conditions. Based on external tests on wet-braking performance, the Eagle EfficientGrip outperforms a leading competitor in its class. This wet-braking test was conducted by TÜV SÜD Automotive GmbH in Mireval, on size 205/55 R16 on a low mu wet asphalt surface, and showed that the Eagle EfficientGrip indeed reduces wet-braking distances of up to 1.7 metres versus a leading competitor. The Goodyear Eagle EfficientGrip is available in 17 sizes in 45 – 65 series, 15-17 inch rims with V, W and Y speed ratings.

The factory-fitted RNS 510 radio navigation system uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to provide turn-by-turn route guidance. It features full touchscreen control on its 6.5-inch widescreen display. For added convenience, voice control can be used for certain functions. The device identifies short voice commands like “start route guidance” and immediately begins to calculate the route.

Porsche Type 804 Formula 1 Race Car Visits Singapore

As part of the F1 festivities, the classic Formula 1 Grand Prix-winning 1962 Porsche Type 804 was in town. If you didn't manage to catch it, here's a look at the iconic race car.


On the move, the dimensions of the 5 Series felt as though it was shrunken, with the car's suspension and engine providing a confidence inspiring drive, belying it's size which is by far the biggest 5 Series ever in the model's history. Though the car looks visually more compact, the wheelbase in reality has been increased by more than three inches. Prodding the accelerator, the car surges forward with no hint of turbo lag. The throttle response impressively quick and sensitive with nary a hint of jerkiness and the car going from 0 to 100 in just 6.1 seconds.
