In addition to testing on European public roads and private proving grounds, engineers also gained feedback from Falkenâ€™s racing drivers at the NÃ¼rburgring who tested the tyres. The resulting â€œNUR-Specâ€ design incorporates a more warp resistant casing and additional nylon-reinforced cover ply to increase high-speed stability. This construction is complemented by a rounder tyre shoulder, optimising pressure deployment on the tread area.

Toshiki Yoshioka found the podium again after a one year hiatus and placed in third beating John Russakoff in the consolation round. The finals pitted Falken Tire teammates Daijiro Yoshihara and Darren McNamara. With consistent driving Yoshihara again found the podium this season and won his second consecutive victory at Road Atlanta. With this victory Yoshihara moves into first place overall in the Pro Championship standings and takes the lead in the chase for the Tires.com Triple Crown.

Round 1: Streets of Long Beach provided fans with action and excitement through the weekend. The debut of new vehicles and new drivers added to the anticipation for the new season.

As with most finals, the final event did not fail to disappoint, showcasing intense drifting action that will determine a new champion. The battle for third place pitted Darren McNamara in the Falken Tire Saturn Sky against Michihiro Takatori in the BF Goodrich Nissan S15. McNamara pushed his car too hard hitting the wall and taking himself out of the competition giving Takatori third place. The final battle placed two time Formula DRIFT champion Tanner Foust against Vaughn Gittin Jr. After a close One More Time battle, Foust edged out Gittin to take the event victory as well as secure his first Tires.com Triple Crown bonus prize.
