This Oh-so-beautiful sports concept is the hybrid that marks a new chapter for Jaguar. Inspiring new advances in design, the C-X16 combines searing performance with gorgeous styling.


Both power plants are mated to an eight speed automatic transmission that is designed for towing and offroad use. The Touareg Hybrid reaches a top speed of 240 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. A 1.7-kWh nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack now sits in the spare tyre well and packs enough energy to drive the Touareg up to two kilometres. The battery is kept at an optimum operating temperature with two fans and a duct that leads to the interior ventilation system.

The IPS version of the Evora allows the driver to switch between manual paddle shift and automatic drive modes. The driver also has the option of selecting ‘sport’ mode which showcases the Lotus sport driving experience allowing the driver to really feel each gear shift and be in complete control of the transmission. Lotus Chief Executive Officer Dany Bahar said: “The Evora IPS is set to broaden the appeal of the Evora and reach out to a wider market and we hope it will be popular with established automatic locations such as Asia. It’s been a while since Lotus created an automatic and we’ve spent a great deal of time refining this one to make sure that it perfectly complements the Evora drive experience.” Khun Seree Rakvit, President of Niche Cars Lotus, and sole authorised dealer for Lotus in Thailand, commented: “We are honoured to present the Evora IPS to the region at the Bangkok Motor Show. Having an automatic version of the popular Evora model is a great addition to the portfolio as it complements the current Lotus range perfectly.”

And that is exactly what the S5 Sportback has - a supercharged V6 for more power, Audi's S styling for sportier aestheticism as well as a sportier chassis set up for better handling. But more on the S5's engine first. As mentioned earlier, the S5 Sportback's three litre supercharged V6 is the exact same one sourced from the S4 and rightfully so for the S5 Sportback is essentially a S4 based vehicle if automotive taxonomy is anything to go by. With force induction, the S5's V6 churns out 333bhp worth of power, which is a huge difference as compared to the base 2.0 TFSI's 211bhp and 68bhp more than the 3.2 FSI model.
