Exuding exclusivity, the expansive exterior of the Concept X7 iPerformance identify it immediately as a BMW X model, with clear vertical proportions and significant ground clearance. The front end of the Concept X7 houses a large vertical kidney grille, flanked on either side by slim and elongated twin headlights — creating a powerful visual statement.

‘Premium Dynamism’ is what Nissan terms the Qashqai’s new look. At the front, the Qashqai gets an integrated new front bumper, featuring more of the car’s body colour and glossy black plastic. Nissan’s iconic ‘V-motion’ grille frames the new Nissan badge — with a traditional badge for the 1.2-litre variant, and a flat finish for the 2.0-litre variant in order to house the Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) system’s radar. On either side of the grille, new LED lamps with ‘boomerang’-style daytime running lights (DRL) run across the top of the headlamp assembly.

Nissan’s best-selling crossover gets refreshed

To put it in laymen’s term (that would be easy for non-engineers - like me, even - to decipher), it begins with a new Bridgestone innovated compound that was developed at the Nano level. This compound was designed to provide almost glue-like grip when it comes into contact with water. Secondly there are the deeper grooves, which are improved over its predecessor, the EP200. Last but not least a round rib edge, which maintain the tyre’s stiffness along with providing maximum contact shape and pressure.

First introduced in the Audi Q7 in 2015, the 3D sound technology has now evolved to include the rear compartment of the car. Two full-range loudspeakers in the A-pillars, and two more in the headlining above the rear seats provide the spatial dimension of height and intensify the surround sound into the perfect stereophonic experience. Using an algorithm developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute, the stereo or 5.1-channel recordings are used to calculate the information for the third dimension, and process it for the four 3D loudspeakers.

Finally, the long-awaited GT Sport, the latest iteration of the PS Gran Tourismo series has an official release date.

Power comes courtesy of a 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 engine derived from the outgoing M5, but revised to feature newly developed turbochargers, ultra-efficient charge air cooling and increased fuel injection pressure, increasing power to 600 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, up from the F10-chassis M5’s 560 bhp and 678 Nm. The century sprint takes just 3.4 seconds, all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250kmh. With the optional M Driver’s Package, however, the fun continues till the speedometer touches 305kmh.
