Forget the original plan to mirror the Imola Coupe; Pagani has gone full throttle to pay homage to the Huayra R. It’s called the Pagani Imola Roadster, hailed as “the best-performing open-top the brand has ever created”.

The Huayra, even after being outshone by the Utopia, isn’t ready to bow out just yet. It’s been given a new lease of life – think of it as the Zonda’s refusal to fade away, but with an extra punch.

Underneath the Imola Roadster’s bespoke body lies a heart of pure power – an upgraded 6.0-litre, twin-turbo V12 engine crafted by none other than AMG, specifically for Pagani.

This engine roars with 838bhp and 1100Nm of torque, all channelled through a seven-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox to the rear wheels.

Ever heard a six-pipe titanium exhaust system work its magic on a turbocharged V12? Pagani claims it’s ‘astonishing’. And with the ability to accelerate with a force of 2g and a top speed north of 350km/h, this beast screams performance.

While hitting top speeds is always exhilarating, the Imola Roadster plays a different game. It’s all about aero efficiency, chewing up the word ‘elegant’ and spitting out ‘lap-times’. “600kg of downforce at 173.98mph” should give you a good idea.

The design team at Pagani enlarged the front air intakes, optimising dual warm air outlets, and creating wheel arch openings for better stability and reduced pressure. And yes, there’s a roof scoop, even without a roof, gulping air for the V12, while a central fin keeps the car stable.

Pagani’s use of ‘Carbo-Titanium’ makes the Imola Roadster not just strong, but feather-light at 1,260kg. To put it in perspective, a Ford Fiesta with a sandwich might weigh more. Even the special paint, first seen on the Imola Coupe, contributes to weight reduction, shaving off 5kg.

Despite its track-monster vibe, the Imola Roadster is surprisingly road-legal. Wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres, this car looks at home even outside your porch. Sort of.

Inside, you’ll find a seven-channel audio system, embossed leather, carbo-wood trim, and, of course, Pagani’s unmatched attention to detail.

While Pagani remains tight-lipped about the price, one thing’s for sure – with only eight of these beauties being made, expect a price tag in the millions. And they’re probably already spoken for.
