The rain made Canada a memorable race, with Verstappen beating Norris and Russell to victory.

Max Verstappen recaptured his winning form at the Canadian Grand Prix, weaving through unpredictable weather and fierce competition to clinch a victory.

The race was a roller coaster, starting wet and tumultuous, seeing Max initially tailing George Russell in a slick, rain-drenched track drama.

But as the track began to dry, Lando Norris initially seized the lead, only to be shuffled back behind Verstappen following an opportune Safety Car intervention triggered by Logan Sargeant's crash.

Verstappen outmanoeuvred Russell and held firm against the elements and a pack of determined drivers.

The circuit at Montreal became a strategy background - Norris and Russell sparred thrillingly for position, with Norris ultimately securing second place, and Russell navigating a tough scrap with his teammate Lewis Hamilton to take third.

Behind the podium finishers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll scooped up valuable points for Aston Martin, and Daniel Ricciardo found a much-needed return to form.

Kevin Magnussen had a brief sprint in the opening laps of the race too, the right set of tyres giving him some much needed speed.

Meanwhile, it was disaster for Ferrari, where both Sainz and Leclerc retired from the race; a stark contrast to the dominant form showcased in Monaco.

Sainz also took out Alexander Albon in his spin, ending the Thai driver's stoic race prematurely.
