Aston Martin Unveils New Valiant

BY Sean Loo

Aston Martin has just announced Valiant, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused, road-legal monster.

The latest model from the in-house bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, is limited to just 38 units globally, and are all fully allocated. Sorry if you were thinking of taking out your checkbook.

The Valiant’s story begins with a personal commission from Fernando Alonso, an Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver.

Inspired by his illustrious 23-year career in Formula 1 and his love for pushing boundaries, Alonso envisioned a lightweight, extreme race car version of the Aston Martin Valour.

This vision, combined with the craftsmanship of Q by Aston Martin, brought Valiant to life. It’s a testament to bespoke personalization, offering enthusiasts the chance to create truly individual sports cars.

The Valiant continues Aston Martin's legacy of delivering intense driving experiences both on-road and on-track. From the hypercar Valkyrie to the Vantage GT3 race car, Aston Martin has consistently pushed the envelope.

Valiant, like its sibling Valour, draws inspiration from the brand’s iconic heritage while firmly planting itself in the future of performance and technology.

Fernando Alonso shared his excitement, saying, “Valour was a spectacular celebration of Aston Martin's 110th anniversary, and it inspired me to create a more extreme, race car-inspired version that’s track-focused, yet thrilling on the road. Valiant embodies my passion for driving at the limit.”

The Valiant is a blend of brutal V12 performance, contemporary engineering, lightweight materials, and design. Its 5.2-litre V12 engine now develops 734hp and 753Nm of torque.

Carbon Ceramic brakes provide immense stopping power, and the use of lightweight materials like a 3D-printed rear subframe and magnesium torque tube enhances agility and handling.

The Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers are the crown jewel of Valiant’s suspension system. These state-of-the-art dampers offer motorsport-level damping control, enabling the car to handle like a dream on both track and road.

Inside, the two-seat cockpit features exposed satin-finish carbon fibre, lightweight upholstery, and a new steering wheel designed for intuitive feel.

The manual gearbox’s exposed linkage and bespoke gear knob add to the mechanical charm, while the built-in half-cage and Recaro Podium seats ensure driver safety and comfort.

Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, described Valiant as “a modern masterpiece. Inspired by a racing legend and conceived using the latest F1 technology, Valiant focuses on providing a unique, intense, and emotional driving experience. It’s the ultimate blend of performance, track-focused dynamics, and hypercar intensity.”

Valiant is set to make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with dynamic demonstrations on the famous Hill Climb course, including a run by its first customer, Fernando Alonso. Who else could it be?

With deliveries starting in Q4 2024, the lucky few who managed to score one will be chuffed to bits when their own road-going monster arrives in their garages.
