Exciting Formula 1 Themed Activities For Singapore Residents With #RevUpSG Campaign

BY Sean Loo

Singapore residents can look forward to some race-themed activities as the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 draws near.

The race promoter, Singapore GP, has rolled out a lineup of F1-themed activities as part of the #RevUpSG community engagement campaign.

From behind-the-scenes tours to a thrilling karting challenge, pop-up festivals, and the much-anticipated Pit Lane walk, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Behind-The-Scenes Tour

Fans can embark on exclusive guided tours of the F1 Pit Building, the nerve centre of the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Happening from July to August, these tours offer a rare glimpse into the world of Formula 1 night racing. Thanks to the high demand in previous years, additional tour sessions have been added for 2024.

Attendees will hear from key personnel, delve into the circuit’s sustainability practices, and peek into typically restricted areas like the Race Control room, Media Centre, and podium.

Tickets are available through a ballot for local residents until 14 July.

#RevUpSG Karting Challenge

For those itching to hit the track, the #RevUpSG Karting Challenge is the perfect opportunity. Held on 3 to 4 August at The Palawan @ Sentosa HyperDrive, this challenge is open to locals aged nine and above.

Participants will be divided into two categories: Category A (ages 9-17) and Category B (ages 18 and above). Racers must have a minimum height of 140 cm. The top 10 qualifiers on 3 August will race for podium positions the following day, with exclusive tickets to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024, Red Bull merchandise, and Sentosa vouchers up for grabs.

Interested participants can enter the ballot until 14 July.

#RevUpSG Festivals

The fun doesn’t stop there. #RevUpSG Festivals will be popping up across the island at Suntec City (27 to 28 July), One Punggol (24 to 25 August), and Toa Payoh HDB Hub (31 August to 1 September).

These festivals will feature a host of F1-themed activities, including race simulators, open-cockpit vehicle experiences, and a preview of the official 2024 Singapore GP merchandise. Formula 1 enthusiasts can also catch live screenings of the Belgian, Dutch, and Italian Grands Prix courtesy of beIN Sports.

Visitors at the One Punggol and Toa Payoh HDB Hub events can snag promotional codes for Friday Zone 4 Walkabout tickets at special community prices.

Pit Lane Experience

The highlight of the #RevUpSG campaign is undoubtedly the Pit Lane Experience, set to take place on the Thursday of the F1 night race weekend. Up to 4,500 lucky residents will get an exclusive chance to walk down the Singapore Pit Lane and see the Formula 1 team garages up close before the Circuit Park gates officially open.

Tickets for this unique experience on 19 September are available via a ballot, opening from 1 August.

With just two months to go until the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024, these activities are a fantastic way to rev up the excitement and get a taste of the high-octane action.
