Shortly after clinching the Mclaren dealership, Wearnes Automotive has been named as Infiniti's official dealer in Singapore.


The new bull features a carbon fibre monocoque chassis that only weighs 1,575kg, yet it provides extreme torsional stiffness. Combined with the new twelve-cylinder 6.5 litre V12 engine, producing 700 hp and 690Nm of torque, the super car dashes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and maxes out at 350 km/h.

While going green seems to be the main theme to this year's auto show, the lineup is still tantalising enough to make petrol heads drool.

The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will be presented at the 2011 Geneva motor show. A production-ready car, the V60 Plug-in hybrid has carbon dioxide emissions of below 50 g/km. The car can be driven on diesel power alone, as a diesel-electric hybrid, or as an electric-only car - technology that no other manufacturer can currently offer. The plug-in hybrid, which will be launched on the market in 2012, is the result of close cooperation between Volvo Cars and energy supplier Vattenfall.

The production Veloster was stripped to bare metal and the chassis spent five days in an Alkali bath removing all rubber and adhesives. Some of the interesting facts and figures shared by him include, how at the end of 2010, the Rolls-Royce brand saw a whooping 400% growth here in Singapore. The sustainable growth was largely due to the effort put in by automobile businessman Karsono Kwee’s Eurokars Group, which is investing seriously in expansion programs. The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ growth did not end just there, as it saw a healthy 600% growth in China. Surprisingly though, the European market could not catch up with the Asian market — at the end of 2010, it only saw a 200% growth. Although uncertain and “hard to predict”, Mr Muller-Otvos reckons that China will overtake North America as their main consumer, by as early as the end of 2012. He also stated that the latest Ghost model would help drive that new growth.

Who says Valentine’s Day can only last a day? Peugeot celebrated the occasion with a two-day campaign to bring a smile to everyone.


Inside, it features a unique “twin bubble” shaped cockpit. The first Saab 9-4X crossover to be commercially produced has now rolled off the assembly line at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.


The new chassis only weighs just 75kg, yet, McLaren claims that it provides the perfect combination of occupant space, structural integrity, light weight, and relatively low construction costs. In retrospect, the manually-produced McLaren F1 took up to 3,000 hours to complete, the SLR reduced that manufacturing time to about 300 hours, while the MP4-12C's chassis can be produced in four hours. McLaren says that the new process is part of making carbon a reality to car enthusiasts, at a price point more affordable to a wider market.
