It was back in March of 1974 when the Lamborghini Countach rolled off the production line in Sant’Agata Bolognese, marking the birth of an automotive icon.


Mercedes had been weighing their options ever since Hamilton revealed his plans to leave at the end of the season to join Ferrari. And just a day after Antonelli made his FP1 debut at his home Grand Prix in Monza, Mercedes confirmed the news on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix. After clinching the ADAC and Italian F4 titles in 2022, followed by the Formula Regional European Championship in 2023, Antonelli skipped F3 and went straight to F2 with PREMA this season. Despite his inexperience, the Mercedes junior has already claimed two race victories and currently sits sixth in the championship standings. Alongside his F2 campaign, Antonelli has been gaining valuable experience testing older-spec F1 machinery with Mercedes. “It’s an incredible feeling to be announced as a Mercedes works driver alongside George for 2025,” Antonelli shared, his excitement palpable. “F1 has been a dream since I was a little boy, and I’m grateful to the team for the support they’ve given me and the trust they’ve shown. I’m still learning a lot, but I feel ready for this opportunity. My focus is on improving and delivering the best results for the team.”

With Sargeant yet to secure a point this season and the latest incident damaging the team’s upgraded package, Williams team boss James Vowles has decided it’s time for a change. Vowles spent the Zandvoort weekend in discussions with rival team bosses, exploring potential replacements for Sargeant. Among the early candidates were Mercedes reserve Mick Schumacher and Red Bull reserve Liam Lawson, with both teams expressing openness to a deal. However, Williams ultimately decided to go in a different direction, choosing their Driver Academy talent, Franco Colapinto, as the best fit for the remainder of the season.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural weekend, 2+1 Concepts is back with Sprint Fest 2024.


In the latest 2023 Impact Report, SGP announced a commendable 20.7% reduction in emissions from the 2022 baseline within a five-month reporting period, with total emissions amounting to 1880.80t (CO2e). This feat excludes freight, logistics, and travel by Formula 1 and its teams. Energy is the primary source of emissions for the event. Direct emissions from fuel combustion, known as Scope 1, accounted for 46.56% of total emissions, representing a significant 40.97% decrease from the previous year. This reduction was primarily driven by substituting diesel with low-carbon alternatives for power generators and other energy management initiatives. In 2023, SGP powered select generators in the Circuit Park with biodiesel, including Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), and increased the use of B100 biodiesel. The plan is to extend the use of green fuels across all generators by 2028, potentially reducing energy emissions by up to 52%.

Race organiser Singapore GP Pte Ltd (SGP) is on track to halve its energy emissions from the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix by 2028.


This move marks a shake-up in the management structure as Audi prepares for its 2026 debut. From August 1, Binotto will take on the dual roles of chief operating officer and chief technical officer, stepping into the hot seat to drive Audi’s F1 ambitions. This appointment comes on the heels of some major exits, with Sauber CEO Andreas Seidl and Oliver Hoffmann, previously chairman of the board of directors, departing the project. Why the sudden change of guard? It’s simple. Audi is ramping up its F1 preparations, and it's becoming increasingly clear that tighter control and enhanced infrastructure are critical. Currently, Sauber, the team Audi will be taking over, has yet to score a point this season - a situation Audi aims to dramatically improve.
