We went up north to sample the turbocharged Mustang in its natural habitat, and here’s what we’ve found (yieehaaw)…


Weighing in only at 1,575 kg, the naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine produces 740 bhp and 690 Nm of torque; 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds and top speed rated at 350 km/h. Transmission is provided by Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotized gear shifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

Lamborghini's V12 flagship features enhanced overall chassis and aerodynamic performance on top of its 740 bhp output


The new car will be based on the New Generation i30, which was launched last year. The racing version is designed to take advantage of the best qualities of the road-going model, which went through its own rigorous testing plan, including mileage on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.Work on the design began at Hyundai Motorsport in September last year; building and development of the cars will also be completed at the company’s headquarters in Alzenau, Germany. The creation of this new project continues the work started by the Customer Racing department on the New Generation i20 R5 rally car which showed the high-performance, dynamic side of Hyundai to a wider audience.In line with current TCR regulations, the car will be powered by a two-litre turbocharged engine (from within the Hyundai range), and fitted with a six-speed gearbox and 100-litre fuel tank. The car is scheduled to begin testing in early April, while the first deliveries to customers are planned for December.

Hyundai Motorsport has announced its first project for circuit racing, a TCR-specification design based on the new-generation i30


The ultra-low inertia, twin-scroll turbochargers fitted to the new M840T engine spools up more rapidly than previous designs, delivering reduced turbo lag and quicker throttle response. This new 4.0-litre engine then signals its performance credentials with an exhaust sound achieved through a sophisticated balance of harmonics and delivering a ‘crescendo’ characteristic, according to engine rpm and load. The all-electric, zero-emission two-seater Dendrobium concept hyper car will make its global debut at this March's Geneva Motor Show

In a move to prevent both Google and Apple from conquering in-vehicle apps, Ford and Toyota have stepped in together to form a telematics alliance


The stance of the car, particularly from the rear three-quarter panel to the wheel arch, was carefully refined with a slightly wider track. The characteristic front engine-bay vents of the 275 GTB are an evident styling cue, as is the adoption of the triple louvres in the three-quarter panel in place of the F12berlinetta’s B-post quarterlights. However, the louvres on the rear bumper, together with the milled aluminium fuel filler cap, instead got its inspiration from the special competition-developed 275 GTB (chassis number 06885) that won the GT category in the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hour race; that particular race car won third place overall. Its yellow paint scheme is also a tribute to that 275 GTB, echoing its Ecurie Francorchamps team colour.

Which got me asking myself: What other car could I buy with that money? Coming out with an extensive list of classic, sports, executive sedan and even JDM heroes, I could easily buy up to fifteen different cars. But if I decided to be practical in land-scarce Singapore, it would only boil down to three: A McLaren 650S, Range Rover Sport V6 and Ford Mustang Convertible EcoBoost. Not forgetting a Subaru Impreza WRX STI as well for, you know, track day duties…Oh no. I’ve just wasted your precious time going into my fantastically detailed fantasy. Please accept my apologies.
