<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Audi House of Progress will take on a decidedly more motorsport-focused character this September, as Audi Singapore rolls out a series of Formula 1-inspired activities ahead of Singapore&#8217;s race season.</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26914" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Formula 1 may ultimately be decided by tenths of a second, tyre strategies and several hundred people staring intensely at computer screens, but enjoying the spectacle need not be quite so complicated.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Throughout September, Audi Singapore is transforming its Audi House of Progress at 18 Cross Street into a motorsport-themed destination, with activities ranging from racing simulators to exclusive merchandise customisation and, most notably, an Audi R26 show car on display.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A closer look at Audi&#8217;s Formula 1 car</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/07-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288671"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The centrepiece arrives on 12 September. From then until 28 September, visitors to Audi House of Progress will be able to see a full-scale display model of the Audi R26, the car representing Audi&#8217;s new chapter in Formula 1.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The showroom itself will receive a motorsport makeover, with racing-inspired visual elements and interactive activities intended to highlight both Audi&#8217;s performance heritage and its future in the sport.</p>

<div class="wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex">
<div class="wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/02-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288664"/></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/01-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288663"/></figure>
</div>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Finished in Audi&#8217;s Titanium, Carbon Black and Audi Red colour palette, the show car gives visitors an opportunity to study the design language and visual identity associated with Audi&#8217;s debut Formula 1 season without needing a paddock pass.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The R26 will be displayed during the Audi House of Progress&#8217; opening hours from 10am to 7pm.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Think you can go faster?</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-1-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288668"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For those who would rather race than look at a racing car, there is the Audi Singapore Time Attack 2026.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Held at the GT Bar within Audi House of Progress on 12, 13 and 26 September, the competition puts participants behind the wheel of Audi racing simulators and challenges them to set their fastest lap.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sessions run from 11am to 6pm, with final registration at 5.15pm. The quickest drivers will stand a chance to win prizes, including a curated dining and race-viewing experience for two at the Singapore Night Race.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Formula 1 fashion gets a personal touch</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/01-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-288662"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On 5 and 7 September, customers purchasing an Audi Revolut Formula 1 Team jersey at Audi House of Progress can have it customised at an exclusive on-site embroidery station by adidas.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The complimentary service will operate from 11am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm on 5 September, followed by 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm on 7 September.</p>

<div class="wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex">
<div class="wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/06-2-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288669"/></figure>
</div>

<div class="wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/04-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-288665"/></figure>
</div>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It forms the lifestyle component of a wider September programme that Audi says is intended to make its Cross Street venue more than simply somewhere to display cars.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Between an R26 to inspect, a racing simulator to attack and a Formula 1 jersey to personalise, Audi House of Progress will spend September looking rather less like a conventional showroom, and more like a motorsports home.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Japan’s already busy motorsport calendar is about to gain another championship, and this one promises plenty of downforce.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Radical Japan has confirmed that the inaugural Radical Cup Japan will take place in 2027, bringing the British sports car manufacturer’s established one-make racing format to the country for the first time.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The championship will feature the Radical SR3 XXR and SR3 XX, with drivers competing in identical or closely matched sports prototypes designed specifically for circuit use.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Radical Cup championships currently operate across 14 countries, with competitors ultimately able to progress to the Radical World Finals. The Japanese series will follow the same basic philosophy: lightweight machinery, substantial aerodynamic grip and close wheel-to-wheel racing.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Four rounds, eight races</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26905" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1858a06f-f6d9-8f5d-af47-893aeb8d808a.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Organised directly by Radical Japan with technical and operational support from Craft-Bamboo Racing, the inaugural season is scheduled to begin in May 2027.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Four rounds are planned between May and September, with each event comprising two races for a total of eight across the season. The provisional calendar includes some familiar names. Sportsland SUGO, Mobility Resort Motegi, Tsukuba Circuit and Okayama International Circuit are all expected to host rounds.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Racing begins before 2027</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26903" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/6ccdf1d0-de73-279a-9fe5-abf688b675e7.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Two track days originally scheduled for late 2026 have been transformed into what Radical Japan describes as prologue events ahead of the championship.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The first is the Radical Japan Exhibition Race, scheduled for 3 November 2026 at Okayama International Circuit. It will effectively serve as a dress rehearsal for the championship, with practice and qualifying followed by two exhibition races.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A second event, the Radical Japan Training Day, will take place at Mobility Resort Motegi on 12 December 2026.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rather than concentrating solely on racing, the Motegi programme will place greater emphasis on driver development. Participants will receive track time and Time Attack sessions, alongside professional driver feedback and educational opportunities including lectures on vehicle data analysis.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Entries for both events are open to the public. Existing owners can participate with their own SR3 XXR or SR3 XX, while Radical Japan is also offering prospective competitors access to new, in-stock and pre-owned cars, as well as rental opportunities.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A race-ready SR3 XXR package</h2>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Radical Japan is also attempting to lower one of the more obvious barriers to joining a new racing championship: getting the correct car onto the grid.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To mark the manufacturer&#8217;s official arrival in Japan, it has introduced a limited 10-unit SR3 XXR Launch Package.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Priced from ¥22,833,800 including tax, each car is supplied in a race-ready specification that meets Radical Cup Japan eligibility requirements from the outset. This includes a 1,500cc engine upgrade and the mandatory cockpit safety structure.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For those who would prefer to sample the machinery before committing more than ¥22 million to one, there is another option.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Radical Japan has introduced a test-drive programme costing ¥110,000 including tax, providing prospective competitors with a tailored 30-minute circuit session in an SR3 XXR demonstrator at selected circuits around Japan. Should the participant subsequently purchase a car, the test-drive fee will be refunded as cashback.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A new route into prototype racing</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The arrival of Radical Cup Japan adds another avenue for drivers looking to move beyond conventional production-based racing.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The remaining details – including the final 2027 calendar, entry fees and sporting regulations – will be announced at a later date.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">More information and pre-entry details are available from <a href="https://radicaljapan.co.jp/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">Radical Japan&#8217;s official website</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix may take place around Marina Bay, but in the weeks leading up to this year&#8217;s race, some of the action is heading into the heartlands.</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-1024x683.png" alt="" class="wp-image-26803" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-1024x683.png 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-300x200.png 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-768x512.png 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-1536x1024.png 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties-550x367.png 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/REvUpSG-Watch-Parties.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:31px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Singapore GP is bringing back its #RevUpSG watch party series for a fifth edition, with three locations across Singapore hosting live Formula 1 screenings from August to September ahead of the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bedok, Toa Payoh and Woodlands will each host a race weekend, accompanied by Formula 1-themed activities, competitions and prizes. And yes, bringing your own chair is encouraged.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Formula 1 Comes To The Heartlands</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/excited-fans-during-the-live-screenings-1024x683.png" alt="" class="wp-image-288288"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The first #RevUpSG weekend will take place at <strong>Bedok Town Square from 22 to 23 August</strong>, where fans can catch the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2026.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Saturday&#8217;s programme runs from 12.30pm to 11pm, with the F1 Sprint screened at 6pm followed by qualifying at 10pm. On Sunday, #RevUpSG Trivia begins at 8pm before the Dutch Grand Prix gets under way at 9pm.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The series then moves to <strong>HDB Hub in Toa Payoh on 12 and 13 September</strong> for the Formula 1 Tag Heuer Gran Premio de España 2026. Qualifying will be screened at 10pm on Saturday, while Sunday&#8217;s programme includes trivia at 8pm followed by the race at 9pm.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The final stop will be <strong>Kampung Admiralty on 25 and 26 September</strong>, featuring the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026. Qualifying begins at 8pm on Friday, while Saturday features #RevUpSG Trivia at 6pm before the race screening at 7pm.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More Than Simply Watching The Race</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/bein-sports-asia-commentary-booth-1024x683.png" alt="" class="wp-image-288289"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The live screenings are only part of the programme. Visitors can take part in interactive reaction-based games, while younger aspiring broadcasters can try being an F1 Kids commentator at the beIN SPORTS Asia booth. Official 2026 Singapore Grand Prix merchandise will also be previewed at the events.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are prizes to be won too, including tickets to the F1 Exhibition, LEGO sets and access to the Thursday Pit Lane Experience during Singapore Grand Prix week.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fans are also being encouraged to bring a few things of their own. Those with a favourite model car can enter Ready, Set, Race!, while fans can prepare postcards addressed to their favourite Formula 1 drivers for a chance to have them delivered during race week.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Community-Priced Singapore Grand Prix Tickets At Bedok</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/f1-themed-interactive-activities-1024x683.png" alt="" class="wp-image-288290"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is an additional incentive to visit the opening weekend at Bedok Town Square. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will have the opportunity to purchase a limited allocation of community-priced Friday tickets for the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The offer covers <strong>Friday Zone 4 Walkabout tickets and Friday Stamford Grandstand tickets</strong>, with only 1,000 tickets available. Sales will take place exclusively at the Bedok Town Square pop-up on <strong>23 August from 12.30pm</strong>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Each person may purchase up to two tickets per category. Given how quickly Singapore Grand Prix tickets can disappear once race week approaches, it may be worth arriving early.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Building Up To Singapore&#8217;s Night Race</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/stamford-grandstand-view-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288291"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The #RevUpSG series forms part of the build-up towards the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026, which returns to the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 9 to 11 October.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Singapore Grand Prix remains one of Formula 1&#8217;s most distinctive events, with cars racing through the city centre under floodlights at speeds of up to 325km/h, surrounded by Singapore&#8217;s skyline.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But not everyone needs to be trackside to become part of the atmosphere. By taking Formula 1 into Bedok, Toa Payoh and Woodlands, #RevUpSG gives fans another way to experience a race weekend – one that is considerably closer to home and, in some cases, perhaps only a short MRT ride away.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There will be games, prizes, race screenings and plenty of fellow Formula 1 fans. Just remember the foldable chair.</p>

</div>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are just five races away from Singapore: Kimi Antonelli has built a 50-point championship lead, Lewis Hamilton is leading Ferrari’s response, and George Russell remains in the hunt.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Yet with Zandvoort, Monza, Madrid, Baku, and a surprise return to Sepang still to come, the picture could change quickly before the paddock reaches Marina Bay.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2812806801-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288280"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Scuderia Ferrari HP during Formula One British Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here are the fast facts on where the championship stands:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Drivers’ Championship</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) leads with 219 points</li>

<li>Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) trails by 50 points at 169</li>

<li>George Russell (Mercedes) holds third with 160 points</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">&nbsp;Constructors’ Championship</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Mercedes leads with 379 points</li>

<li>Ferrari is second with 307 points</li>

<li>McLaren sits third with 220 points</li>

<li>Red Bull is fourth with 177 points</li>

<li>Racing Bulls a solid fifth with 66 points</li>

<li>Alpine sixth with 61 points</li>

<li>Haas is an encouraging seventh with 21 points</li>

<li>Williams down in eighth with 11 points</li>

<li>Aston Martin is ninth, at least with 1 point</li>

<li>Cadillac brings up the rear with no points scored thus far</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mercedes: The New Benchmark</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2775377429-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288283"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Andrea Kimi Antonelli, from Italy competes for Mercedes. Sprint Race for the 2026 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mercedes’ response to the new technical regulations has been emphatic, with eight wins from 11 Grands Prix and 10 pole positions giving them a commanding lead. Antonelli has led the charge with six victories, while Russell has added wins in Australia and Austria.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It has not been flawless. Reliability issues and Russell’s difficult run through Belgium and Hungary have left points on the table, but Antonelli still heads into the summer break 50 points clear of Hamilton. Mercedes are bracing for a more intense second half as their rivals continue to develop.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ferrari: Closing In?</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2756705473-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288282"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Charles Leclerc, from Monaco competes for Ferrari. Race day for the 2026 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ferrari have emerged as Mercedes’ closest challengers. Hamilton claimed his first Grand Prix victory in red at Barcelona-Catalunya, Leclerc followed with a win at Silverstone, and nine podiums have kept the Scuderia second on 307 points.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hamilton sits second in the drivers’ standings, but Ferrari remain 72 points behind Mercedes and still need greater consistency to turn pressure into a sustained title push.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">McLaren: Champions Fighting Back</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2818268499-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288281"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Lando Norris, from United Kingdom competes for McLaren F1. Race day for the 2026 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">McLaren entered 2026 as the reigning champions, but the new era initially caught them on the back foot.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reliability setbacks and a development deficit left Norris and Piastri chasing Mercedes and Ferrari, before a major Hungarian upgrade finally delivered their breakthrough, with Norris taking pole and McLaren’s first Grand Prix win of the season.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They remain third in the constructors’ table, but Hungary offered genuine hope for the second half.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Red Bull: Searching for a Way Back</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2759725833-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288276"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing during qualifying Formula One Japanese Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Red Bull are navigating an unfamiliar season. Verstappen is yet to win a Grand Prix in 2026, although four podiums and a runner-up finish in Hungary have kept him sixth in the championship with 109 points.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The team sits fourth on 177 points, with Isack Hadjar adapting to the second seat while Red Bull continue to chase performance in a development battle that has shifted from circuit to circuit.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Three-Man Title War</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2803675531-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288279"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>George Russell, from United Kingdom competes for Mercedes. Race day for the 2026 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This season has developed into a fascinating fight between Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton splitting the pair.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Antonelli holds the edge, 50 points clear of Hamilton and 59 ahead of Russell, but the long second half leaves little room for complacency.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With Mercedes still the fastest package overall and Ferrari closing in, one retirement or poor weekend could quickly change the complexion of the championship.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2026 Singapore Grand Prix (October 9th &#8211; 11th)</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.autoapp.sg/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/shutterstock-2745120445-1024x682.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-288274"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Nico Hulkenberg, from Germany competes for Audi Revolut F1 Team, . The build up for the 2026 Formula 1 Winter Testing</em></figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Local fans, you&#8217;re about to witness a new chapter at Marina Bay. Singapore will host its first-ever F1 Sprint weekend in 2026, compressing the action into a single practice session before Sprint Qualifying on Friday and the Sprint on Saturday. The 4.927-kilometre street circuit remains one of Formula 1’s most physical, spectacular, and strategically volatile tests.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Will Antonelli arrive with his lead intact? Can Hamilton or Russell pull him back? Could McLaren’s Hungary resurgence continue, or might Verstappen finally break Red Bull’s winless run?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With Formula 1 returning to Sepang just one week earlier and extra Sprint points on offer in Singapore, the championship could look very different by October 11. One thing&#8217;s certain: Marina Bay promises drama, speed, and high-stakes championship storytelling.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are few car manufacturers whose identity is as closely intertwined with motorsport as Porsche. The company&#8217;s first international motorsport success came in 1951, when the lightweight Porsche 356 SL secured a class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Seventy-five years later, that same competitive spirit continues to shape everything from the 911 GT3 RS to the all-electric Taycan Turbo GT. Racing has never simply been something Porsche does. It is part of the company&#8217;s DNA.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26735" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/07.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To celebrate that remarkable journey, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart has unveiled a new special exhibition titled <strong>&#8220;Raceborn – 75 Years of Porsche Motorsport&#8221;</strong>, running until 17 January 2027.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Featuring more than 30 competition cars spanning over seven decades, the exhibition explores how motorsport has continually influenced the evolution of one of the world&#8217;s most recognisable sports car manufacturers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26739" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/13.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rather than walking visitors through a simple timeline of racing victories, <em>Raceborn</em> is organised around six central themes: racing classes, diversity, innovation, milestones, people and regulations.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The idea is to show not just what Porsche has achieved on the track, but why those achievements continue to influence the company&#8217;s engineering philosophy today.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Porsche is motorsport. And motorsport has made Porsche what we are today. We are dedicating a special exhibition to this legacy and our mission for the future, showcasing the full spectrum of this special part of our DNA.&#8221;</p>
<cite><em>Achim Stejskal, Head of Porsche Heritage and Museum</em></cite></blockquote>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26737" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/11.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the exhibition&#8217;s greatest strengths is the way it avoids treating historic racing cars as static museum pieces. Instead, each car represents a chapter in Porsche&#8217;s engineering evolution.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The original 356 SL sits alongside the modern 963 endurance prototype, while the all-electric Formula E 99X Electric and the experimental Cayman GT4 e-Performance demonstrate how motorsport continues to evolve alongside changing technologies.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rather than presenting these cars as belonging to different eras, Porsche places them in conversation with one another, illustrating how every generation has answered the challenges of its time.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26738" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/10.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Interestingly, the exhibition does not shy away from one aspect of motorsport that many fans often overlook: the rulebook.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Through interactive displays, visitors can explore concepts such as Balance of Performance, understand why racing regulations evolve and discover how technical restrictions often encourage engineering innovation rather than suppress it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A dedicated motorsport glossary also helps explain terminology that can sometimes appear intimidating to newcomers, making the exhibition accessible even to those with little prior knowledge of racing.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26736" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/09.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Porsche has also recognised that tomorrow&#8217;s enthusiasts may not yet know the difference between GT3 and GT4.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To address that, the museum has introduced <strong>Raceborn Kids</strong>, a dedicated programme designed to make motorsport more approachable for younger visitors.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Interactive exhibits, tactile displays, digital experiences and child-friendly explanations encourage children to discover how racing cars work, why weight matters and what it takes for a team to complete a 24-hour endurance race. Rather than simply looking at racing cars behind barriers, young visitors are encouraged to explore the engineering principles that underpin them.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The museum will also host a series of Motorsport Talks throughout the exhibition, covering topics ranging from historic racing cars to Formula E and the restoration of significant competition machinery.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26740" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/15.-Porsche-pays-tribute-to-its-motorsport-history-with-a-special-exhibition.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Seventy-five years after a humble 356 SL crossed the finish line at Le Mans, Porsche continues to race for exactly the same reason it always has: to build better sports cars.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">From the 2027 racing season, Porsche has introduced a GT4 race car based on the 911. Meet the new Porsche 911 GT4 R.</h2>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For almost a decade, the Porsche Cayman has become one of customer motorsport&#8217;s greatest success stories.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It may never have enjoyed the glamour of the 911, nor the headline-grabbing lap records of Porsche&#8217;s GT3 machinery, but on race weekends around the world, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport earned a reputation for being exactly what amateur racers and professional teams needed. It was quick, dependable and, perhaps most importantly, affordable enough to keep racing accessible.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now, however, Porsche is turning the page.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why The 911, And Why Now?</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="690" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x690.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26700" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x690.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x202.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x518.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1035.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x371.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/07.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">GT4 has changed dramatically since Porsche first entered the category in 2016.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Originally conceived as an affordable stepping stone into GT racing, the class has evolved into one of the most competitive forms of customer motorsport anywhere in the world. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Championships such as the GT4 European Series and ADAC GT4 Germany have become breeding grounds for tomorrow&#8217;s GT3 professionals, attracting increasingly experienced drivers and well-funded teams.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="669" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x669.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26701" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x669.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x196.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x502.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1004.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x360.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/02.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By introducing a GT4 car based on the 911 platform, the manufacturer is giving customer teams a machine that sits closer to its flagship GT racing programmes, both technically and emotionally.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;With the new racing car based on the Porsche 911 GT3, we are taking our successful GT4 programme to a new level. The combination of iconic 911 DNA and the tried-and-tested GT4 concept creates a unique offering in the market.&#8221;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Borrowing From The Big Brother</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-26702" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x367.jpeg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/04.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Unlike previous GT4 models, which shared their roots with the Cayman road car, the new GT4 R borrows heavily from the 911 GT3 Cup.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At its heart sits the same naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six boxer engine, producing up to 520PS and 470Nm of torque before Balance of Performance adjustments are applied. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Power is delivered through a six-speed sequential dog gearbox operated via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, while race-developed electronics further enhance drivability and consistency.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="723" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x723.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26703" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x723.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x212.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x542.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1085.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x388.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/05.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Compared to the outgoing Cayman-based GT4 Clubsport, Porsche says the new car benefits from wider track widths, improved stability and more sophisticated motorsport electronics, all aimed at making it faster, easier to drive and more forgiving over the course of long endurance races.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Designed For The People Who Actually Race</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="686" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x686.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26704" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x686.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x201.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x515.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1030.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x369.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/08.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the reasons Porsche has enjoyed such success in customer motorsport is that it understands who buys these cars.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Not every customer is a factory-backed professional driver. Many are private teams, gentleman racers or ambitious young drivers working their way through the motorsport ladder. Reliability, ease of maintenance and running costs are often just as important as lap time.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 911 GT4 R reflects that philosophy, with suspension that offers dual-adjustable dampers together with three spring-rate options, allowing teams to tailor the car to different circuits without excessive complexity.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Unlike the GT3 Cup car, the GT4 R also uses conventional five-stud wheel hubs, making wheel changes and maintenance more familiar for customer teams.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26705" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/12.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Inside, Porsche has concentrated on giving drivers the tools they need rather than unnecessary distractions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A new 10.3-inch colour display provides essential race information, while an integrated data logger and GPS system allow teams to analyse every lap in remarkable detail. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Additional ballast options ensure the car can be configured to meet different Balance of Performance requirements across championships worldwide.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Racing Towards Sustainability</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26706" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/13.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Interestingly, Porsche has also used the GT4 R to continue experimenting with sustainable materials.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Natural fibre-reinforced composites feature extensively throughout the bodywork and cockpit, replacing conventional carbon fibre in selected areas.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Components including the doors, engine cover and aerodynamic elements all benefit from the lightweight material, continuing Porsche Motorsport&#8217;s efforts to explore more environmentally conscious manufacturing methods without compromising performance.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The End Of The Cayman&#8217;s Chapter</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="796" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x796.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26707" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1024x796.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-300x233.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-768x597.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-1536x1194.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport-550x428.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/03.-Porsche-unveils-the-new-911-GT4-R-for-global-customer-motorsport.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Since entering GT4 competition in 2016, Porsche has produced more than 1,500 Cayman-based customer race cars.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Together, they have become one of the most successful platforms in the category, competing in national and international championships across the globe while earning a reputation for reliability, accessibility and outright pace.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Cayman didn&#8217;t just introduce countless drivers to GT racing. For many, it <em>was</em> GT racing. It&#8217;s a shame to see it go, but the new Porsche 911 GT4 R should prove helpful to many more budding motorsports enthusiasts around the world.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">For the last few years, Le Mans has felt a little like turning up to a family gathering and discovering the old favourite has been relegated to the kids&#8217; table.</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-1024x683.jpg" alt="Le Mans 2026 Toyota Winners" class="wp-image-26689" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265863.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">24 Hours of Le Mans winners #7 TOYOTA RACING, Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Toyota, once the undisputed king of endurance racing, arrived at Circuit de la Sarthe carrying the scars of recent defeats. Ferrari had stolen the spotlight. Cadillac had found genuine pace. BMW had emerged as a serious contender.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Hypercar era, once expected to be Toyota&#8217;s playground, had instead become motorsport&#8217;s most brutal heavyweight division.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And yet, after 24 hours of chaos, strategy, survival and sheer stubbornness, Toyota was back where it believes it belongs: standing on the very top step at Le Mans.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26691" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797353287.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">#51 FERRARI AF CORSE, Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 2026 running of the world&#8217;s greatest endurance race was never going to be straightforward. Nothing at Le Mans ever is.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">BMW arrived with pole position and genuine confidence. Cadillac looked every bit a winner for large portions of the race. Ferrari, chasing an unprecedented fourth consecutive victory, remained a constant threat lurking in the background.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The margins were microscopic, the pace relentless, and the slightest mistake threatened to turn months of preparation into an expensive sightseeing tour of the French countryside.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26695" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259113.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">#7 TOYOTA RACING, Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Toyota&#8217;s No. 7 machine, shared by Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries, wasn&#8217;t supposed to have an easy route to victory. At various points, it looked as though the race was slipping away. But Le Mans has always rewarded resilience as much as outright speed.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hour after hour, while rivals stumbled over mechanical gremlins, strategy errors and plain bad luck, the Toyota simply kept turning laps.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Not glamorous laps. Not headline-grabbing laps. Just relentlessly efficient laps that have become Toyota&#8217;s trademark over the past decade.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26692" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388645.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">#15 BMW M TEAM WRT, Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello, Dries Vanthoor during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe on 11 June 2026</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As dawn broke over La Sarthe, the fight intensified, with BMW remaining firmly in contention. Yet when the final hours arrived, and the pressure reached unbearable levels, Toyota did what Toyota does best: it refused to blink.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When Kamui Kobayashi finally crossed the finish line after 24 exhausting hours, the margin to the chasing BMW was just over ten seconds. After an entire day of racing, that&#8217;s barely enough time to make a cup of coffee.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26688" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797265859.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">24 Hours of Le Mans winners #7 TOYOTA RACING, Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This was Toyota&#8217;s first Le Mans triumph since 2022, ending a four-year wait that must have felt considerably longer inside the team&#8217;s garage.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For a manufacturer accustomed to winning, the recent Ferrari era had been a painful reminder that motorsport has a very short memory. Yesterday&#8217;s champion quickly becomes today&#8217;s underdog.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26693" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797388681.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">#8 TOYOTA RACING, Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Toyota crew delivered when it mattered. Strategy calls landed perfectly. Reliability held firm. Drivers stayed calm when others cracked.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Adding further weight to the result was the fact that Toyota placed its sister No. 8 car on the podium as well, securing third place. And what a time to do it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26685" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259379.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Start picture of the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Hypercar class is now arguably stronger than at any point in modern Le Mans history. Ferrari, BMW, Cadillac, Porsche, Peugeot, Alpine, Aston Martin and now Genesis have all converged on the same battlefield.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Victory no longer comes from simply showing up with a competent prototype. It must be earned against some of the biggest manufacturers in the world.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This win was Toyota standing toe-to-toe with a full field of hungry rivals and emerging victorious. Again.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26683" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/shutterstock_2797259039.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">#36 ALPINE ENDURANCE TEAM, Fred Makowiecki, Jules Gounon, Victor Martins during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, 3rd round of the 2026 FIA WEC at the Circuit de la Sarthe</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Le Mans has a habit of choosing its winners. In 2026, after years of near-misses, frustration and watching others celebrate, it chose Toyota once more.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Alongside it, the company has also introduced the MCL-HY GTR, an ultra-exclusive track car developed under the Project: Endurance programme.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-1024x576.png" alt="" class="wp-image-26611" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-1024x576.png 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-300x169.png 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-768x432.png 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-1536x864.png 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9-550x309.png 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/03_16x9.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The MCL-HY will see McLaren compete once again at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, completing its presence across Formula 1, IndyCar and endurance racing.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“McLaren Racing now has three race cars ready to contest the biggest motorsport series in the world… This means McLaren… can challenge for the Triple Crown.”</p>
<cite><em>Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing</em></cite></blockquote>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-1024x576.png" alt="" class="wp-image-26610" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-1024x576.png 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-300x169.png 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-768x432.png 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-1536x864.png 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9-550x309.png 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/02_16x9.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Developed to LMDh regulations, the MCL-HY combines a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis with a hybrid powertrain.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Power comes from a twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with a hybrid MGU system, delivering up to 520kW (707PS) to the rear wheels.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With a minimum weight of 1,030kg, the focus is not solely on outright performance, but on balance and efficiency.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The car will undergo an extensive testing programme throughout 2026, with development drivers including Mikkel Jensen, alongside McLaren Driver Development Programme members Gregoire Saucy and Richard Verschoor.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26616" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Side-Profile_16-9.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Visually, the MCL-HY has been revealed in a 2026 test livery inspired by the McLaren M6A, a nod to the brand’s Can-Am dominance in the late 1960s.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From the F1 GTR’s victory at Le Mans in 1995 to its earlier successes in Can-Am, endurance racing has long been part of McLaren’s DNA.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26612" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Front-3Q_16-9.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Running in parallel with the race car is the MCL-HY GTR, a track-only derivative designed for a select group of clients.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Unlike the race car, the GTR omits the hybrid system, relying instead on a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged engine producing around 730PS. The result is a lighter car with a more direct, less complex driving experience.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26614" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9-550x309.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/MCL-HY-GTR_Rear-3Q_16-9.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Through Project: Endurance, owners are offered a two-year programme that includes six track events across international circuits, complete with professional coaching, dedicated pit crews and engineering support.</p>

It is hosted by Le Mans winner Timo Bernhard, alongside former Porsche race engineer Norbert Singer, who offers first-hand insight into the development of the car.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Racing Car Defined by Evolution</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="759" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x759.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26550" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x759.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-300x223.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-768x570.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1536x1139.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-550x408.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/16.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">First homologated in March 1976, the Porsche 935 quickly established itself as one of the most dominant racing cars of its era, competing in the World Manufacturers’ Championship and numerous international series.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Built on the foundation of the Porsche 911 and developed for the Group 5 category, the 935 was defined by its ability to evolve rapidly within the limits of the regulations. Widened bodywork, unconventional aerodynamic solutions and constant technical refinement allowed it to remain competitive year after year.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“What truly matters is the spirit that runs through every variant: the precise interpretation of the regulations, the willingness to rethink technical solutions time and again, and the courage to make decisions under intense time pressure.”</p>
<cite><em>Alexander E. Klein, Head of Porsche Heritage Operations and Communications</em></cite></blockquote>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Variants, One Story</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26546" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/12.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The series brings together five distinct versions of the 935, each representing a different stage of its development.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The original 1976 model introduced the concept, combining advanced engineering with a distinctive design that pushed the boundaries of the regulations. It also highlighted the importance of driver feedback and team communication, particularly in an era before radio contact with the pits.</p>

</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 935/77 marked a significant technical step forward, most notably with the introduction of twin-turbocharging. By replacing the single large turbo with two smaller units, Porsche improved throttle response and reduced turbo lag, making the car more manageable for drivers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26542" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-300x200.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-768x512.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-550x367.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/08.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A different approach was taken with the <strong>935 “Baby”</strong>, developed for sprint racing. Engineers focused on weight reduction, removing all non-essential components and reworking the chassis. The result was a lightweight car powered by a smaller 1.4-litre engine, which demanded high revs and precise driving.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="676" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x676.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26545" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x676.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-300x198.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-768x507.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1536x1014.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-550x363.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/11.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At the other end of the spectrum was the <strong>935/78 “Moby Dick”</strong>, an extreme interpretation of the concept. Featuring heavily revised aerodynamics and a twin-turbo flat-six engine producing up to 845hp, it was capable of reaching speeds of 366 km/h on the Mulsanne Straight.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Completing the lineup is the <strong>935/77 test car</strong>, which, while not designed for competition success, played a critical role as a development platform. It was also used in an unusual project as a pace car for a cycling speed record attempt exceeding 240 km/h.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Engineering Approach and Legacy</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="753" src="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x753.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26548" srcset="https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1024x753.jpg 1024w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-300x221.jpg 300w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-768x565.jpg 768w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-1536x1130.jpg 1536w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time-550x404.jpg 550w, https://burnpavement.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/14.-Porsche-Heritage-Moments-brings-together-five-variants-of-the-935-for-the-first-time.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Across all five variants, a consistent theme emerges: continuous refinement within strict regulatory constraints.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 935 was not developed as a single, fixed concept. Instead, it evolved through incremental changes in aerodynamics, powertrain configuration and weight reduction, often under tight time pressures.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This approach allowed Porsche to remain competitive across multiple seasons and racing formats, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for engineering precision and adaptability.</p>
