In the heat and humidity, with crosswinds playing tricks down the back straight, SJM Theodore Racing’s Charles Leong and Alex Denning sealed the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia PRO title with a round to spare, while Siamgas Corse’s Supachai Weeraborwornpong wrapped up his fourth Lamborghini Cup crown.
Leong and Irish team-mate Denning have been the benchmark all season. Race 1 delivered their sixth PRO win of the year, ahead of DW Evans GT’s Emilien Carde/Nazim Azman, with Peter Li Zhicong taking the final PRO podium to keep his title hopes mathematically alive.
In Race 2, the pair played it perfectly: a calm P2, this time behind Singaporean Super Trofeo Junior Ethan Brown, who claimed his second PRO victory of the season, driving solo for Leipert Motorsport, and the title was theirs.
For good measure, SJM Theodore Racing also clinched the 2025 Team championship, again with a round in hand.
As for Weeraborwornpong, the Thai stalwart did what champions do: he won Race 1, then won Race 2, and with it the Lamborghini Cup title. There’s a pleasing symmetry to it: the season-long pacesetters banking points with cool heads, while the young gun grabs the glory run.
Did Sepang feel like a proper championship weekend? Absolutely, and the drivers delivered in spades.
With Round 5 concluding, Asia is done, and Europe beckons. The championship heads to Misano World Circuit, 6–7 November, for the sixth and final round, where the remaining silverware for the PRO-AM and AM classes gets decided.
Then comes the big crescendo: the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final, 8–9 November, where Asia’s best face their counterparts from North America and Europe. New track, new rivals, same gladiatorial theatre.
Sepang tested nerve as much as speed, and the right names rose to the top. Leong/Denning earned their crowns with pace and clarity; Weeraborwornpong added another line to an already rich CV; and the supporting cast (van der Drift/Kingsford, Buncharoen, Brown) made sure the weekend had a proper narrative arc.
So, to Misano: cooler air, new variables, and two titles still in play. Will experience hold, or will momentum nibble away at the points cushion? That’s the intrigue.
