It is Maybach’s first-ever two-seater, the most athletic expression of the sub-brand yet.
Imagine the iconic SL silhouette, then drape it in the sort of detailing that makes valets pause mid-handbrake pull. The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series pairs the easy, open-air charm of a roadster with Maybach’s calling cards: hand-finished materials, a cocooning cabin, and luxury design flourishes.
Two curated moods: Red Ambience or White Ambience

Buyers get two ready-made ensembles. “White Ambience” reinterprets Maybach’s classic two-tone with obsidian black metallic up top and MANUFAKTUR opalite white magno below.
“Red Ambience” pairs the same black with MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic; a new tinted clearcoat gives the colour real depth, like a claret catching the light. Inside, crystal-white, sustainably tanned MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather swathes almost everything, balancing airiness with that signature Maybach “cocoon”.

If your tastes run bespoke, there are more than 50 MANUFAKTUR paints from Côte d’Azur Blue to revived hues from the archives, so you can match your SL to your cufflinks, your townhouse, or your mood.
The face, and a bonnet that’s basically ink-jet couture

Up front sits a brand-specific chrome grille with fine vertical slats, shaped in a sportier A-contour that visually lowers the nose. The grille and Maybach script are illuminated, while a rose-gold accent in the headlights adds a jewellery-like glint.
The windscreen frame and front apron keep the chrome theme going without tipping into kitsch. Out back, taillights with Maybach logos, a dedicated diffuser, and horizontal-bar tailpipes deliver quiet swagger; 21-inch forged wheels (five-hole or multi-spoke) and an acoustic-comfort soft top with a subtle woven Maybach pattern seal the look.

An obsidian-black bonnet is available with an integrated Maybach monogram rendered by PixelPaint. A print head with over 1,000 individually controlled nozzles lays down microscopic drops of paint (20–50 microns) with no overspray, layered between multiple hand-sanded clear coats to create depth you can fall into. It’s intricate, labour-intensive, and genuinely innovative.
Ride like a Maybach, steer like an SL

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series uses semi-active hydraulic roll stabilisation in place of conventional anti-roll bars, quelling body movements in fractions of a second. Paired with rear-axle steering, Maybach-specific damper tuning, and softer springs, the car threads the needle between glide and grip.
Acoustic insulation, recyclable fibreglass muffler inlays, and an exhaust tuned for sonorous restraint keep the cabin hush intact, even with the roof stowed.

A 4.0-litre biturbo V8 (430 kW/585 hp, 800 Nm) mated to a 9G-TRONIC, fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and an e-diff at the rear. It does 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and runs on to 260 km/h.
Drive modes adjust the powertrain’s demeanour from silk-gloved to sprightly, with softened throttle mapping in the calmer settings.
“With the new Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, we now bring a dynamic, open-air expression of Maybach luxury tailored for the most discerning customers.”
