But come 26 to 28 June 2025, Bridgestone is throwing a potent one-two punch of high-octane racing, technology, and fan engagement, as the AUTOBACS SUPER GT and the all-new GR86 Cup Malaysia Series roar into the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
To call this a return would be underselling it. This is a revival. A renaissance. A reaffirmation of Bridgestone’s commitment to motorsport.
Since their last stint at Sepang in 2013, Bridgestone has been quietly reinventing what a tyre can do, and now with rubber ready and engines primed, they’re back. With reigning champions like TGR TEAM au TOM’S shod in Bridgestone POTENZAs, there’s serious pedigree to the performance.
SUPER GT will be making its long awaited return to the Malaysian Peninsula. Speeds blistering past 300km/h, overtakes that test the laws of physics, and strategy layered as intricately as baklava.
But, while the SUPER GT paddock glistens with elite experience, the GR86 Cup Malaysia Series is where new talent is forged. The POTENZA RE-71RS, used throughout the GR86 Cup, channels the brand’s “From Circuit to Street” philosophy.
Beyond the Asphalt
Bridgestone didn’t just pack a trailer of tyres and call it a day. At the heart of the weekend is its ‘What Sets Your Heart Racing’ campaign, a nod to the visceral joy that motorsport brings.
Over at the Bridgestone booth, fans can expect a host of interactive activities, including the cheekily named ‘Spin the Tyre Challenge’, because who doesn’t love a little tyre-induced vertigo?

From SUPER GT glory to GR86 grassroots grit, Bridgestone’s return to Sepang is a celebration, a festival showing that it can inspire beyond the chequered flag.
