Formula 1 2025 – Before The Singapore Grand Prix

With eight different winners in the first 15 races and McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull all vying for glory, this season remains fiercely competitive.

We are just three races away from the annual Singapore Grand Prix, and the title battle for this year’s champion thus far has been razor-close. Both McLaren drivers are at the core of the drama, and it’s anyone’s game as the paddock heads into the second half of the season.

McLaren: Utter Dominance

McLaren’s charge this season has been extraordinary, with multiple one-two finishes and strong upgrades keeping them at the summit. Their Sunday in Hungary showcased racecraft and adaptability, sealing yet another one-two with Norris finishing ahead of Pisatri.

Off-track, McLaren CEO Zak Brown has emphasised fair treatment amid the intra-team rivalry: both drivers are free to race, though “individual conversations” will ensure the championship fight remains constructive.

Ferrari: A Hopeful Recovery?

Ferrari has had mixed fortunes. Charles Leclerc continues to perform every now and then, but points have been hard to come by consistently, and they’re firmly second in the constructors’ hunt, fighting to challenge McLaren’s dominance.

Hamilton has had a turbulent first season with the Scarlet marque, but his race he crosses the chequered flag gives him a bit more confidence heading into the next grand prix. With seven titles under his belt, don’t count him out just yet.

Mercedes: Reversing Missteps, Eyes on Second

Mercedes endured setup problems mid-season, notably with a problematic rear suspension. After scrapping it before the Hungarian GP, performance improved and George Russell secured a podium in Hungary.

The team is optimistic heading into the latter half of the season, and they currently sit third in the standings but remain in the mix for second in the constructors’ fight.

Red Bull: Turbulent Times

Red Bull is navigating rough waters. Christian Horner’s sudden exit as team principal has reshaped the team dynamic, with Laurent Mekies stepping in to fill the leadership role.

Max Verstappen, despite personal changes like becoming a father in April, remains committed, but the team’s competitiveness has dipped and sits fourth in the constructors’ table.

The Two-Man Title War

This season has turned into a thrilling duel between McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Piastri holds the edge, but Norris is relentless, with both drivers sharing wins, poles, and podiums. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting intra-team title battles in recent memory.

Singapore is famous for being one of the most demanding races on the calendar and has produced exciting shake-ups in the past (check out Carlos Sainz’s win back in 2023).

Our bets are now on who will stand atop the top step when the dust clears? Will Piastri maintain his lead? Can Norris turn the tide? Or could Ferrari or Mercedes spring a surprise under the lights?

One thing’s certain: the stakes couldn’t be higher as we head into October 3–5, and Singapore promises drama, speed, and high-stakes championship storytelling.
