The Car’s The Star Pt 2 | Cars & Coffee Dec 2015

Check out our extended coverage of the pre-Christmas Cars & Coffee meet!

A couple of weeks ago we uploaded the first part of our coverage of one of our local Cars & Kopi meetups (which you can view here); as promised, here is part two.

For those not in the know, Cars & Coffee is an event format that originated in Irvine, California, basically a car show without a specific structure or formality. You simply show up, admire other people’s rides and/or show off your own, mingle around with the owners and hang out with friends. The slight twist in the Singaporean renditions are that, so far at least, they’re still small-scale, laid-back affairs; a simple and cosy meetup for friends, by friends, if you will. Despite that, the quality and variety of machines that shows up never ceases to amaze, which is why we love it so much. Here’s hoping to an even bigger and better 2016!

First up, this stunning E34 5-series, with a whole host of M5 goodies, including the gorgeous “throwing star” rims. The owner loves it so much, he actually bought it back four years after selling it!

An original Lotus (not Caterham) 7, dressed up appropriately for the festive period. Looks pretty ordinarily sized here…

… Until you see what was parked next to it…

We featured a number of Lotuses in part one, so here’s something a bit more Noble.

Naturally, an event like this is quite popular with photographers – not just the experienced…

… But the budding ones too!

Pop-up headlamps: Why did they have to go away? 🙁

Porsches will always be one of the most popular classics around.

A touch of regal class was added to the proceedings by this Daimler 4.2.

This particular TA22 Celica is probably the nicest in the country – we even featured it several years ago, and made for one of our most popular articles to date! If you ever come across this Soul Olive beauty, do take a moment to savour it. The meticulousness and attention to detail bestowed upon it by its owner is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

And that’s it for this edition of Cars & Kopi! Once again, big kudos to the folks at Garage36 for organising. Do keep an eye out for any future editions of this unique event!
